Hey guys! We just recently made the switch to Vista. I've taken the exact same settings for network configuration/settings that I was using from the old computer over to the Vista PC. However, I can't get the connection to work. Does the settings have to differ in Vista than XP?
Also, what's the difference between the TCP/IPv6 & the TCP/IPv4 connection? This wasn't the same with the old XP machine. I've been using the TCP/IPv4 settings to connect but keep getting limited connectivity banners. Aren't the settings from both the PC & PS2 supposed to match identical with the IP addresses in Vista too?
I'm having no success at all here with this problem. It worked flawlessly in the old XP machine. However, I'm new to Vista so it's a different type look for me here on this issue. Well, the configuration is similar but the added TCP/IPv6 connection I have no clue to what that's for really. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. Below are my network settings currently:
PC:
IP address: 192.168.0.1
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1
Preferred DNS Server: 24.158.96.130
Alternate DNS Server: 24.158.96.131
PS2:
IP Address: 192.168.0.1
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1
Preferred DNS Server: 24.158.96.130
Alternate DNS Server: 24.158.96.131![]()

I don't know what I was thinking there. I got it figured it now though. I feel really embarrassed. I must have feel asleep for a while over this because I surely had no problems on the old XP machine. I was just overlooking this configuration setup. Thanks guys & I better go back to
now! Ha!
