If your asking how to get uLaunchELF on your PS2, this depends if you have ever tried to get an .ELF on your PS2 before. If this is your first time, then your method of transfer depends on what you have. I have a matrix infinity mod-chip so I just use Infinity DEV2 Installer v1.1. If you don't have a chipped PS2, then you need to find another way. Click here for more info.i got ulaunch 3.48. how do i burn it? i'm a noob
Yes, uLaunchELF does have a built-in version of USBD.IRX. You can also select an external USBD.IRX file if your device doesn't work with the internal one. If your asking if SMS media player can be used to load LaunchELF, then the answer is no. It can't because it's a media player and doesn't execute .elf files, that's what LaunchELF is for once you get it loaded onto your PS2.does ulaunch have usbd.irx included? if so, can i copy it to mc and load from usb hdd in SMS media player? or do i need another usbd.irx?
If you mean that you have no idea how to make bootable PS2 CD-R discs, then sorry, I don't have time to make basic tutorials on that. There are already tons of such tutorials around, on many sites, so search for them.Originally Posted by ihaveabu
Once you learn how to do it for any ELF that they use as example, simply replace that ELF with the one for uLaunchELF, and you should be all set.
The default usbd.irx of uLaunchELF is built-in, not included as a separate file, so you can't use it with SMS.also, does ulaunch have usbd.irx included? if so, can i copy it to mc and load from usb hdd in SMS media player? or do i need another usbd.irx?
However, that usbd.irx is simply compiled from free sources at ps2dev.org, so if he feels like it EEUG can use it for SMS too. That's completely up to him.

i used CDGENPS2 and just burned everything extracted from ulaunchelf 3.48.zip
if i stick a usb flash drive (FAT), and copy USBD.IRX from naplink onto mc0, will that work?
i have a v14 with cc1.1 chip btw.
what i'm concerned about is if ulaunch can read off a usb device. i'm going to copy USBD.IRX to mc0, and get SMS to work properly

burning with cdgenps2 doesn't seem to work. the disc doesn't read.....
Did you really think that would work...?Originally Posted by ihaveabu
That ZIP is not a bootable CD image. It is a combined source code and binary release archive. The ELFs are ready for use, sure, but to boot them on a CD you must at least add a valid SYSTEM.CNF for it, with adjusted LBA.
You need to study how to make bootable PS2 discs, so please make an effort to search out the TONS of excellent tutorials available on that subject.
Just putting an IRX anywhere unspecified on mc0 will not help you at all. There are a few very specific places where it may be searched for by applications, but if you just stick it in the root directory, then none of them will find it. The recommended place is in "mc0:/SYS-CONF/".if i stick a usb flash drive (FAT), and copy USBD.IRX from naplink onto mc0, will that work?
But LaunchELF itself doesn't need any, as it has one built-in.
Well, it can read many USB devices, but there is no guarantee that it can read yours. You'll just have to try it.i have a v14 with cc1.1 chip btw.

Ok, good luck.i'm going to copy USBD.IRX to mc0, and get SMS to work properly
