what is this SYSTEM.CNF file i keep hearing about? i searched on google but nothing really came up with relevence to burning elf files. Also, i looked up alot of programs that convert ELF to BIN (but i think there for DC since they dont work) Dummy files wont be a problem i dont think cause i have a 1mb dummy file that i can just copy over and over again... So can someone give me this SYSTEM.CNF file so i can burn the elf files on a cd and make it bootable on the ps2 with swap magic cd? thanks
It is a small text file included on PS1 and PS2 bootable discs to tell the bootup routines which file on the disc to start, as well as some other system settings.

Searching for such things is also bound to bring tons of false hits, dealing with how to make other types of BIN files than the disc image kind you were after.

You can get such a file yourself, from virtually any PS2 disc, and then just edit the filename in the "BOOT2" command, which is usually the first text line in the file.

i want to do the same thing, but without PS2 hdd cuz i dont have one, but from ps2 memory card to pc, is this possible and if so then how do i do this?
review the following thread for information on copying files from the ps2 to pc via network (host). since this involves networking, you will be required to have either a slim ps2 or a network adapter.

Yes of course, you can transfer between your Memory Card and a USB Device the same way, which I already pointed this out in my original reply to you (below) from the other thread.
