Hot to copy files from network to usb stick??? –
Hi, Is it possible to copy a file from NAS(network attached storage) to the USB stick using UlaunchELF. Since it is a NAS I want to copy from, I can't install a software onto it. I can access the NAS without any problem using SMS. How can I link my NAS (192.168.1.10) to Host at UlaunchELF (192.168.1.1) so that it can sees the files on NAS.
Any idea? Thanks.
Unfortunately the SMB/CIFS protocol (windows shares) that you can use in SMS has not been implemented in uLE.
You have to use the PS2 specific 'host:' protocol to access files over the network in uLE. You have to run the client program on a PC and add the folders you wish to share with the PS2. (Download is on the first page of the uLE thread.)
As far as I know the problem is that the authors of uLE did not want to change over to the SMB/CIFS network protocol because it is read only, whereas the 'host:' protocol is read/write in uLE.
ahhh, that all makes sense. that is why you can't delete a file on SMS. thank you very much for the info.
