    hi

I have a slim PS2 SCPH-75004. I bought it in 2006, which is when it was modded too. A friend of mine got it done so idk which chip it is.

Anyways, i wanted to know if it is possible to start-up ulaunchelf from my 4gb usb pendrive (fat32 formatted). i downloaded uLaunchELF_v4.42a and copied its contents to the pendrive. the ps2 dint seem to recognize it. The light of the pendrive dint light up either when plugged into the ps2.

Tried it with another 512mbpendrive (fat32 quick-formatted) and got the same result, except the light of the pendrive did light up a bit.

I would like to use ulaunchelf in order to use sms to listen to music and watch movies.

I'm a newbie at this, Please help!

    Thanks a lot!

if it's modded and you never used homebrew with that ps2, try burning a ulaunchelf ISO to the cd/dvd disk. ISO images should be provided in ulaunchelf forum thread. (they are for a slightly older uLE versions, but will work just as fine for your needs).

from there you can use it to install FMCB to your ps2 (so you will not need the disk anymore), or just use that uLaunchELF disk to run homebrew off usb stick.

Thanks for your reply! Yep, I've never used homebrew before with the ps2.
    1) So I guess I have to burn the ulaunchelf ISO to a CD, no way booting it the first time from a usb?
    2) If I install fmcb, is there an option to uninstall it later?

    Thanks again!

Honestly no one once they try it usually uninstalls it but just format card can do it and deleting the folders on 1.8b will delete it
but with 1.8c run the installer again and uninstall multi region then delete what is left

about usb you could try some the exploits but with mod chip a lot easier with iso burn

mod chips won't boot usb is why

    Thanks!

    1) I've got a blank moserbaer 52x recordable cd. Will that be okay?

    2) Since the cd is 700 mb, can i put other stuff on it besides ulaunchelf? Say like music, videos, or if u can suggest some homebrew apps?

3)I've heard of CDGen for burning the disc. Its okay?

    Thanks loads!

I never have used the cd myself don't know what altering it will do but shouldn't hurt as long as your modcip can boot ELF files and you only have one on their
