Hi, I need some advice.. I have a lot of savegames using the uLE format.. I mean lots of directories and BUP files inside them.. now I want to convert to the more elegant PSU format.. I dont want to do something like that.. transfer the saves back to MC then rebackup then to PC using PSUPaste.. is there another way of doing that without having to recopy everything to the MC?
you know sometimes is dificult to find a savegame with all that BASLUS*** names..

Ok, now for the same thing but a little offtopic.. before uLE I used to backup with nport.. and have another lots of .npo files.. how can I convert them to psu witthout using nport to copy them to MC them uLE to PSUpaste them to host: ?

    Any ideas are appreciated...

    Thanks in advance..

Not reliably, nor easily. The only way I know that would work is to use PS2SaveBuilder to rebuild each save into XPS format, excluding the PS2 attribute file, and then convert that from XPS format to PSU, using the tool mentioned further below.

But that will not work with all saves, as the PS2-specific attributes fall back to defaults. And that method is also bound to be much slower than the dual pasting needed to do the conversion entirely with uLE. (First mcPaste the old backups to MC, and then psuPaste the resulting saves to the new backup location.)

you know sometimes is dificult to find a savegame with all that BASLUS*** names..
Then switch to the uLE browser's game title mode instead, as that works equally well on non-MC media too. For old uLE versions you can do this by simply pressing L1 or L2 (for Title-based sorting VS Name-based sorting).

And with uLE v4.07 or newer you simply open the browser mode popup with L2, and make your choices. ( For displaying titles sorted by titles, just press: L2 Square Left Triangle)

Ok, now for the same thing but a little offtopic..
Here almost anything related to uLE usage is considered on-topic.

First convert them to XPS format using PS2SaveBuilder, and then use the 'XPS<->PSU converter' by ffgriever. (It has a separate thread in this forum.)

    Hey, thanks for the reply..

I think the best way will be compying to MC then Psupasting to host...
and it will be a batch copy after all...

there are two problems I see using ps2savebuilder to convert the files..
1 - have to do one by one
2 - have to rename the files manually from BASLUS*** to the name in icon.sys

guess have torun nport again and rebackup with uLE...

but anyway thanks for your help

Yes. Though you may need to do it in more than one batch, depending on the total size of your backups.

For me it would be impossible to store all my backups on memory cards, even if I used all my MCs for it... (And that includes two 32MB Datel cards)

    Yep. I'm afraid so.

That depends on how you intend to use the saves. There are no tools I know of that depend on the name of the XPS/PSU files, and if you convert to PSU files for use with uLE, then uLE can always display the game titles, regardless of the PSU filenames. (uLE digs into each PSU to analyze the icon.sys it contains.)

That's one way to do it of course, though not the only one.
But it's probably best for you to use the tools that you're comfortable with.
