I see that others have dealt with most of your needs in my absence, but there are some things they did not address completely, so I will deal with that now.
You should test to see if the new uLE version can access that USB drive, because if that works then FMCB should also be able to do it when using the same driver.
Well, you can store it anywhere accessible to uLE, but for most locations you would need to specify the precise path.I was looking at the skinning tutorial and I was trying to create my own .cnf. When it gets to this part:
Would I just have to put the file anywhere on the memory card?SKIN_FILE = uLE:/skinname.jpg
GUI_SKIN_FILE = uLE:/gui_name.jpg
The "uLE:/" string is a way of specifying three separate alternate paths, each of which will be searched for the file in question, in the following search order.
1: The same folder that uLE was launched in (can also be modified in CNF to specific path)
2: "mcx:/SYS-CONF/" with x==1 if uLE launched from mc1, but otherwise x==0
3: "mcy:/SYS-CONF/" with y==0 if uLE launched from mc1, but otherwise y==1
So first the folder uLE launched from is searched, then the /SYS-CONF/ folder on each MC, starting with the MC that uLE launched from, or with mc0 when uLE launched from a non-MC device.
The use of "uLE:/" paths is obviously unique to uLE CNF files and configuration menus, so it is not valid anywhere else.
