The future of uLE?

I'm just wondering what the developers have in store for the future of uLaunchElf. I'm willing to help, but I don't see much activity here, or anything that needs to be done really.(Yes I realize that there was the whole server transfer, so that kinda killed activity for a while).

I'm just wondering if there is a plan for the future, or if its just being played by ear, seeing what people want, and the ones that are feasable and fit into the design of uLaunchElf will be added?

Also, is there any reason there is no suggestions thread here?(I've seen one in the sms forums, and I can understand why you might not want one, just wondering)

And that is of course why we haven't made any new releases lately, because we too are unaware of any major needs for additions.

True, but even before that the activity had been fairly low for a while.

Not really, except for the main idea that we will continue supporting it.

Yes, that's pretty much it for the moment.

No. We just never felt the need for a separate suggestions thread.

It's not that we're against such a thread, but more that we don't see the need for it. Minor one-post suggestions may as well be posted in the main thread, or as separate threads if the posters feels like it.

Major multi-post suggestions on the other hand, including those where discussion and differing opinions are to be expected, had better be made in separate threads for each such specific issue, so as not to confuse the subject matter with other ongoing discussions in the main thread (or the main suggestion thread if we had one).

Did you make any more additions/improvements to your new exploit tool ?

Not yet, school has been killing me lately, but now that I'm on spring break, I have some free time to get some programming done.

Thanks for the reply, guess I'll just watch the main thread to see whats going on.

The only 2 big things that have been mulled over by dlanor and myself:
- SMS cdvd implementation(will help to kill off the old libcdvd + ps2lib dependency for building the cdvd.irx)
- SMS SMB implementation
I have tried unsuccessfully in the past to get evilo's updated libcdvd working. Unfortunately EEUG's implementation is quite a bit different from the original libcdvd base. So it won't be so easy to readapt EEUG's implementation to work with uLE. Evilo's implementation showed promise but as dlanor has stated EEUG's cdvd would be more beneficial. I still haven't spent a lot of time trying to understand the cdvd driver related stuff.:)

As an exploit user, I typically use everything but optical related things. Sure exploit users could make use of SMS's cdvd implementation but in my own case I don't burn disc's all that often. I still don't even own a DVD burner for example.:cool:

Yes, things are mostly played by ear where ideas get thrown around then added when there is time and one is willing. Also Polo35 really added a lot in a short amount of time.

A suggestions thread almost borders on a suggestions list. You did X, now what about Y?, what about Z?.. We tend to keep up fairly well with what gets mentioned in the uLaunchELF thread. So it's probably better that people just continue to post stuff there as not a whole lot escapes our watchful eyes there.:)
