Well bro, the only other option I can think of right now, would be for you to ask dlanor, as he is the coder of ULe.
I think he could help you, with this. I haven't seen a problem arise like this one your having.

500 INSTALLS DONEWell we changed the USB drivers quite a few times over the years as well as a whole lot of other things. While I do have a PS3 and I've overheard that dlanor does now as well, neither of our systems have backward compatible PS2 support. Without the means to do the necessary experiments ourselves, it is pretty unlikely that unofficial LaunchELF will be made compatible with PS3's that have PS2 support.
Well, I'm one of the coders anyway, as there isn't just a the coder for this project.
Unfortunately it is impossible for me to experiment with this problem, since very few PS3 consoles with PS2 backwards compatibility were ever sold in this country (or in Europe in general). It is mainly in Japan and the US that these are common, but here in Sweden it is completely impossible for me to get access to any.I think he could help you, with this. I haven't seen a problem arise like this one your having.
One thing that might help is if you try the 'hacked' uLE betas intended for use with PCSX2, since these are not as dependent on the original EE CPU hardware when it comes to a few things. (PCSX2 has faulty implementation of EE timers, and that might also be the case in some of the BC PS3 consoles. At least the ones that lack a real EE CPU.) Another issue with recent versions is the homebrew MC modules, which PCSX2 is also allergic too, and that might also be a problem with the PS3 version of the PS2 bios. These problems too can be avoided by using some of those 'hacked' betas, which rely only on the MC modules of whatever bios is used.

Dang sorry bro...I meant that your one of the coders. Sorry EP, and an especially big thank you to Mirakichi's "original coder of Launchelf" .
I meant no disrespect.
I meant you are the Co Admin, that is active mostly to answer questions of this matter..

500 INSTALLS DONEand what do i need to do with the usb mass.irx drivers?
do i need to use this, and how?
and is it only the boot.elf what i need?
and i am using this on a ps3 60 gb if you want to know
I'm not sure. Why don't you try searching a bit ?
How would I know ?and why worked it with a version above 3.88? (a few months ago)
I already told you that I have never had access to any PS3 with PS2 compatibility. And I do not expect ever to be able to access any such console for testing. So when it comes to that I should be the one asking questions of you, since you at least have access to the hardware needed to get the answers, which I do not.
Your choice of TV will definitely never affect whether or not your PS2 programs crash.can it be my TV? because it was on an old tv when it worked and now on a new one...
(i don't think that that a problem is)
Your TV settings for the PS3 might possibly have some effect on the PS2 emulation, but the TV itself will have no effect at all.
I have no way at all of knowing whether you need external USB drivers or not.
Hopefully the drivers built into uLE will suffice for your needs, and then no external drivers should be used.
If they are to be used then they need to be stored somewhere in the PS2 MC (virtual MC files on PS3 of course), and uLE then needs to be configured to use those drivers (Config menu for 'Startup Settings..."). But like I said, external drivers are only for cases where the internal ones don't work.
The proper name is "BOOT.ELF", and that file alone is all you should need.and is it only the boot.elf what i need?
Having a proper CNF file can help keep things looking better and keep a list of launch shortcuts in the uLE menu. But uLE can create that CNF file after installation, and will do so whenever you exit from the main config menu using its 'OK' command.
The "BOOT.ELF" name is motivated by being what nearly all modchips and softmods look for in booting an elf file stored on MC, often as "mc0:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF". But for use with SwapMagic it must instead be renamed and stored as "/SWAPMAGIC/SWAPMAGIC.ELF" in the root directory either of a PS2 MC (virtual for PS3) or of a FAT32 formatted USB drive.
It might matter more if I had access to such myself, but that is not possible here.and i am using this on a ps3 60 gb if you want to know
When it comes to PS3 compatibility I am working completely 'in the dark', so nothing helps much.
Best regards: dlanor
i don't find the ulaunchelf beta anywhere.... (what do i need for version?)
and i can get a ps3 60 gb for you for €250 or one for €175 with a defect bluray drive![]()
is this it?

First off, I have to repeat again that I don't know any version guaranteed to work on a PS3. But I did make one version myself specifically to get around PCSX2 compatibility problems, and perhaps it might help for PS3 as well. But this is just a hopeful guess. Others too have made some 'hacked' versions for various purposes, which may also have a good (and different) chance of working. But the one attached to this post is one that I made myself for PCSX2 testing.
Here is the 'changes.txt' section for that release:
There is absolutely no guarantee that this can work for your PS3, but it is certainly worth trying.Originally Posted by changes.txt
Btw: you did mention using some VERY old LaunchELF versions (from before the creation of uLE) alternately to the newer versions. I hope you realize that these versions have completely incompatible configurations, so you need to remove the old LAUNCHELF.CNF file before installing another elf so distant from the previous when it comes to version. The newer elfs will recognize that an old file is unsuitable for use, and will then use only default values, but the oldest versions have no such protection at all, and may just randomly crash instead if used with a newer LAUNCHELF.CNF file.
And does that include shipping to my home in Stockholm, Sweden ?and i can get a ps3 60 gb for you for €250 or one for €175 with a defect bluray drive![]()
Or how much would that add, on top of those prices ?
(Naturally assuming sufficient quality of packaging, so it arrives intact.)
