    Not working

Whenever i goto cdfs:/ The drive whirs for a bit, starts to read the cd/dvd then i just get an empty path /....

Some of the discs i've been using are created specially for sms so have dummy .vob files but some are just normal discs with .avi files on em.

Can anyone help, got a show that plays badly from disc, hoping that putting it on HDD may improve it....

These are the instructions i followed:

How to copy movies from CDFS: (ISO/CD/DVD) to HDD using uLaunchelf:

I assume you know how to assign buttons to ELFs, so assign one to FileBrowser (I did it with R3, press analog Right). In this SubApp you will have some devices FS, select cdfs: and will show CD/DVD contents, press R1 and a menu will appear, copy desired file and browse up with Traingle, then select hdd0: (a few partitions will appear) select the partition you want to copy the movie (or any file to) press R1 again and choose PASTE this time. In 6-7 minutes you will have the 700Mb movie in HDD. Enjoy!
Note: do not abuse of this method, cause it contribute to stress your Laser lens, Use at your own risk!

Your 'sig' mentions various stuff, but no mod-chip, and that in itself could be your problem. Without a mod-chip the PS2 BIOS will not allow a CD-R burned in CD-ROM format to be read. It will only allow CD-R to be used for playing CD-Audio format, like normal music discs. The same problem applies to using DVD-R discs, in that DVD-ROM format is forbidden, though it is then the DVD-Video format which is permitted.

Those with dummy VOBs may be allowed by the PS2 BIOS, if the disc really has DVD-Video format, but unfortunately the current CDVD libs of uLE can only read CD-ROM and DVD-ROM formats. We hope to change that later, but for now we have this limitation.

There are several ways to do that:

1: Set up networking and copy the file at appx 1450 kByte/s from host: to hdd0:
2: Put the file on a USB HDD or flash memory and copy it from there (slow)
3: Use the copying feature of SMS to copy the file to HDD. (I'm a bit vague on the details, as I've never done it)

The main advantage of alternative 3 is that it should be able to handle all CDVD formats supported by SMS, including the CDDAFS and DVD-VIDEO formats not supported by uLE.

    Best regards: dlanor
