Today I had to close a thread due to rule violations of a linked ISO file.
After discussion with its creator we agreed that the thread should be deleted, and that he may open a new one later when he has cleaned out any 'Warez' from that ISO. Just to keep everyone informed I'm here posting a copy of the post I made in that (now deleted) thread, to make him aware of the problem.

"Warez" in this context includes any software to which someone owns the copyright and forbids free distribution. This explicitly includes HDLoader and its 'ripoff sibling' HDAdvance.

Unfortunately the "much more" part includes HDLoader, thus violating the site rules.

Please understand that I don't make policy. I personally think that the HDLoader issue is already 'dead', because it is spread wide and far over Internet now, so having it on this particular site would make no difference. There are other sites more likely to be 'targeted' for legal action anyway, if anyone ever decides to act on it (which seems very unlikely). However, that is all beside the point.

The point is that I am a moderator here, and thus personally responsible for any violations that I allow, so I will allow none at all (knowingly).

You now have three options to choose from:

1: Remove HDLoader (and any other warez, if any) from the posted ISO

-- or --
2: Remove all links to the ISO or sites containing it from this thread

-- or --
3: Delay too long, doing nothing, so I have to erase this entire thread

Sorry, but given the current site policy those are the only options available.
