    Maybe a dump question but can I change the IP of my ps2? Cause my network here has a lot of computers on it, and my router gives them all automaticly a IP. So it uses DHCP. But, my router gaved my pc the ip of 192.168.0.10 Now I just loaded up my ps2, uLaunchELF, network and reset my pc. Now I have 26. It worked! But guess what, a day later, he gave the 10 to another PC. Now I can't work with my ps2 again So if I can set my ps2 ip to another one (Like 192.168.0.210) then it will work again.

    I can't change the router btw, it's my dad's and he wont let me. So that's not an option

    I already used the search option on this part of the forum, but couldn't find an anwser.

    1. Set up the computers with a static ip
    or
    2. Change your ipconfig.dat on your memory card (usually located under mc0:sys-conf)

    I can't change my IP to 0.1 cause tha't one belongs to the router. I should change the opconfig.dat to resolve this issue. But when I just got downstairs I saw my dad in the setup of the router and convinced him that he had to change the router's way of thinking. Now he only addresses IP's after 192.168.0.10 So that 10 is always free and 11 is the first one that's available for the pc. Thnx for the help anyway. Now I learned more about the ipconfig.dat(and other people who will use the search option in the future)

    Your router doesn't let you give specific IP for specific MAC, within the DHCP settings?

    I'm glad your problem is solved, but it may still be useful for you to know that the easiest way to edit "mc0:/SYS-CONF/IPCONFIG.DAT" is to use the "NETWORK SETTINGS" submenu of the "CONFIG" menu of uLaunchELF. This allows you to edit your values for IP, Netmask, and Gateway, saving the result to IPCONFIG.DAT when you're done.

    Best regards: dlanor

    @Dlanor: Didn't new that function.

    @ALL: As far as I understanded, DHCP is there so you can't make any changes about the IP etc. So as long as u use DHCP, you can't set static IP's. But I can be wrong. So I can only use static IP if I do it with all the pc's. And since my dad has a computercompany (just a small one) and there are often "strange" computers on the network he choosed for DHCP so that would only have to plug a cable in the pc.

    I use a 10.0.0.x ip for my ps2. So my config file is 10.0.0.10 255.0.0.0 10.0.0.1
    (<ps2 ip> <netmask> <gateway ip>)
    When I start ExecFTP it says that my gateway is "10.0.0.150." instead of "10.0.0.1". Don't know why, but it works.

    I can always set a static ip. The DHCP server will skip the ip that is in use by the PS2 and uses the next available ip, but an ip conflict will occur if you'll start the playstation when another pc already has that ip.
