    Hi,

I set up a FTP server with ULE, and can use it to connect and add files to the Memory Card, but whenever I try to connect to the Mass storage device, my usb drive, firezilla gives this error:

    Code:
    Response:	150 Opening ASCII connection.
Error:	Transfer connection interrupted: ECONNABORTED - Connection aborted
    Response:	226 Command successful.
Error:	Failed to retrieve directory listing
    Can anyone help?

From your first post i mean you have "Filezilla" and not "Firezilla" as you wrote....

I tested it with the newest version (i downloaded 3.2.7.1 and make update to 3.5.x).
Then i tested it, and it comes the same error in my MC 1. My MC 2 and mass works....

So i read in forums, and many said to run the earlier versions.
And i try v3.0.1 and it works....

So try this version, but donīt make updates......

    FileZilla - Browse /FileZilla_Client/3.0.1 at SourceForge.net

I'm sorry to respond so late to this thread, but I think some may still be interested in my info.
The main difference from previous posts is that I KNOW a modern Filezilla version can do the job.

Filezilla 3.5.3 works fine for me in accessing mass storage devices connected to the USB port of my PS2, through the FTP server built into uLE v4.42a.

This is done with a server entry for the PS2 defined in the Filezilla site manager, as using 'Anonymous' FTP login and 'Passive' transfer mode.
(But it works fine in 'Active' transfer mode too.)

Note that in the FTP client's directory windows the pathnames on USB drives do not follow the standard PS2 form such as "mass:/foldername/.../filename"

Instead they follow the same pattern as used in FTP for PS2 MC and HDD devices, with pathnames like "/mass/0/foldernames/.../filename"
The above is of course for the first USB drive/partition, while a second one would be like "/mass/1/foldernames/.../filename" and so on.
(The new drivers as used in uLE v4.42a support both multiple drives and multiple partitions per drive.)

Remember also that Filezilla is fanatic about caching content, so if you hotplug USB drives to/from the PS2 you must command Filezilla to refresh...

    Best regards: dlanor

Yes, I too used FlashFXP in the past, and it always worked fine with uLE's FTP server.
It's only recently (a year or so) that I've switched to FileZilla instead, and that too has worked fine every time.

It's weird that the other guys in this thread had problems with it, and even more weird that using an older FileZilla version could bypass those problems.

My guess is that they somehow got confused by FileZilla's exaggerated use of cache, which can cause failure to recognize USB drives hotplugged into the PS2 after the client has read the root directory (the uLE device list I mean) a first time. After that it requires a manual refresh command in FileZilla, to make it recognize the added mass drive(s).

    Best regards: dlanor

exactly. at first I thought it strange, but then always used to it and realized it was necessary to refresh or clear the cache.
