I play quite a few imports on my PS2, and when I'm browsing my memory card saves in uLaunchELF, the names of the games don't show up. They show up in the PS2 browser, and I'm wondering if there's any way to make them display in uLaunchELF?

    Thanks!

Yes. uLE allows you to choose between showing normal file/folder names and showing gamesave titles instead.

For old uLE versions you can do this simply by pressing L1 or L2, the difference being that L1 also changes the sorting to be by title, while L2 maintains the same sort order as before. Pressing L1 or L2 again will terminate title mode, so that you again see the proper file/folder names.

For the latest uLE versions (v4.07 and later) we have implemented a new popup for choosing display and sort modes, and that popup is opened simply by pressing L1.

However, having switched to title mode is in itself not sufficient to show Japanese game titles correctly, as such characters don't exist in the normal font. But uLE also supports an alternate font, which when found in the same folder as "LAUNCHELF.CNF" will be used to display game titles, and that font does have the needed 'SJIS' character set. So you need to copy that font file ("ELISA100.FNT") into the same folder where you have the CNF file of uLE. (Either the same folder as the ELF, or "mc0:/SYS-CONF/")

    Best regards: dlanor

Thank you very much for you help. This part I already knew, and it's already proved to be a very useful feature, when managing my saved games. I assumed there would be a way to display Japanese characters, and I'm very glad that I was corect.

This was the part that I needed help with. I've found the file, and got it working now. I'm very grateful to you, since uLaunchElF is now my ideal launcher in every way.
