    Well, to support 6.1 would be wonderful, but i was more thinking along the lines of treating it as a 5.1. That is what all 5.1 home cinemas will do anyway, so why not SMS? I guess I am one of the few people that have this feature, so probably is not worth the trouble to fully support it if it is difficult.

    > so why not SMS?

    One goal that EEUG mentioned about the PASSTHROUGH is that the PS2 CPU will be freed of audio processing. This means that higher quality video may play better. In other words, it is probably pointless to start requesting that SMS do any heavy processing to the Dolby Digital stream. No channel mixing, no volume adjustment, etc...I think it defeats the purpose.

    I fully agree. I kinda meant to drop the 6th channel, not to mix it with others. I dont know much about Dolby so that might not be possible. I still think that 5.1 home cinemas silently ignore it and dont mix it with the back two channels...

    @lolo123:
    @rathunter: ...good news. Everything is OK now with your clips (6ch and 2ch). There was nothing serious, just forgot to "unhardcode" one number. Let's wait some time for new bugs discovery (to avoid frequent changes ) then Rev.5 will come out (maybe I'll also try to implement "play all mp3 files in the folder" option, no promises, but just in case). Thank you again...

    I just tested 5 movies with AC3 with my system NONE of which worked
    3 gave no sound at all and the other 2 gave crakley noise all of which play fine with SMS decoding. The 3 no-sound ones all have a bitrates of 448kbps, one is 2 channel and the others 5, which I ripped myself direct from DVD. The 2 that gave noise have bitrates of 192kbps and are 2 channel. I don't think the channels are the problem as one of the no-sounds are 2 channel also. I can cut some clips if need be but I am alittle busy at the moment.

    EDIT: I just tested the clip posted by lolo123 and it gave no sound either. So maybe it's a problem with my system?

    Would it be possible to grab a copy with the fix and see if it fixes my problem? Also shouldn't it be rev 6 as 5 is the current one

    @taz030485: ...with Rev.5 ONLY 5 channel ac3 will work (I think GSpot lies a bit about number of ac3 channels, since it gives an information that differs from what I have in the code (or, maybe, I have an outdated version of it)). With Rev.6 (thanks for the remark) all other should (at least clips submitted by "lolo123" and "rathunter") are working here now ...

    Oh ok.

    I am at a loss with what the problem could be as DVDs play fine, gamess with DD play fine (Dynast Warriors 5, Genji, MGS3, etc), the folder sounds from SMS play fine, but I get no sound from DD movies

    @taz030485: ...just to be sure you can try 5 channels ac3 for now, and if it won't work then try to submit your clip (note, that 5.1, for example, gives 6 channels in total, so it won't work)...
