That purple screen usually indicates invalid frequency of a video signal. There is a high possibility that your TV set does not support 576p (50Hz) at all. Try checking your TV manual to see supported modes.
And by the way you are not supposed to have VESA 60/75hz mode through your component cable, they are only for Monitor use which is connected through a VGA video cable.

its definitely because of the component cable. your TV doesnt support Sync On Green. you will get this problem with all VGA/Vesa modes.... stick to the HDTV modes 480/720/1080

That is a valid point for all the VGA/Vesa modes, but does not explain why the same thing also happens for him with 576p, which is supposed to use the same component outputs as all other HDTV-specific modes, such as 480p etc.
If 576p really is displayed in VGA-RGB instead of the correct Component colours, then EEUG may have made a mistake in how he sets up the GS chip for this mode. (But I haven't tried it myself yet.)

thatīs right, because the only 2 video modes with this "purple screen" are the new 576P and Vesa modes.

@jm71: In BIOS startup screen try going to 'System Configuration' and change 'Component Video Out' setting to see if it affects 576p mode or not (it may disable other modes, I mean specifically 576p mode).
SMS reads this setting to determine whether it should use RGB colors or Component colors, there is a possibility that it is using RGB where it should use Component due to a bug in older PS2 hardware.
P.S.: Do you ever check your PM box?!

This is really weird, because when I activated the 576p mode in SMS it worked perfectly, just like the other HDTV modes (of which I normally use 720p).
Here the purple effect happens only for the VGA/Vesa modes, but never for 576p.
And for the VGA/Vesa modes this is correct, as they require VGA cable for proper display.
When I do use VGA cable (instead of my normal component cable) then those modes too display correctly (but not HDTV modes). So as I see it there is nothing at all wrong here.

I've also have some problems with HDTV modes in this revision. I've got PS2 v9 and when i use 576p or 720p the menus flicker, when i move the cursor between options. The same goes when i watch anything and turn on the timer (here it looks like only half of the clock flickers).
Besides that this version veeery often have problems with usb, and stops responding. Sometimes with a debug screen, sometimes without. I haven't had such problems in previous versions.

When i set the PS2 to RGB mode in the Bios, i get a black screen, i donīt see nothing at all in the LCD,
For that reason i canīt test the SMS in RGB Mode.
Tonight iīll check my PS2 model.
May be is a compatibility error between my LCD and my old PS2 FAT,
THANKS you guys for the support !!!

This is perfectly normal when using Component cables. The PS2 System Configuration must be set up to use "Y, Cb, Cr" mode with such cables, in order to display anything at all.

Since it is a fat model, the product code is not higher than SCPH-500xx anyway.

It is a known fact that most fat models lack bios support for 576p, and it is doubtful which versions of the GS chip have the capacity to use that mode at all even in hardware.
SMS can set some resolutions apart from what the bios software supports, but only if the GS hardware allows it. Possibly your GS chip version misinterprets what SMS is trying to do, and activates VGA output signals where a newer chip version would use the proper RGB/YCbCr signals (as per settings) for the register values set by SMS to activate the 576p mode.
On my newer slim console (v15 SCPH-77004) the 576p resolution is correctly displayed, and this is with Component cable. So I think the difference may be entirely due to the GS chip version.
