well i've been able to play .mp3 audio files and .avi video files.

.mkv video files give you an error and i tried to play an .mp4 video file and it didn't start.

i'd like to get a full list of files that work through SMS. but as of now the only video file i can seem to get to work consistently are .avi.

Okay so at least I'm not paranoid about being the only person not able to find a compatibility list. Well glad to know that .avi files are supported, I use those 80% of the time.

avi will work as long as it's not "high def" meaning over 720px landscape. (ex: 380h 720w = good. 720h 1080w = won't work)
it will also play vob files from DVD's

mp3 and mp4 audio files will work, mp4 video will not.

jpeg, gif, bmp and other image files will work.

    mkv will not work.
    wmv/wma will not work.
srt subs might work, but I've never used them.
ass subs will not work as far as I know.

If you need more information, http://sksapps.com/sms/en/ might be of use.

Edit: on a related note. I'd suggest updating http://sksapps.com/sms/en/sms-instal...-overview.html this particular page since SMS is one of the official programs on the FMCB release. And we all know that it is compatible with models up to 9000x.

well , to my experience with SMS .. everything is compatible.
using the right sotfware to convert your files to xvid and voila.
i use : Daniusoft DVD Video Converter Pack 2.2.0

    works everytime.

aside all that, make sure you choose xvid and to pick 900 or max 1500 kb/s rate and your set.The conversion is relatively fast depending on your rig.
