If you have a spare HDD already I reccommend you get an enclosure that supports both CD and HDD drives. They are larger, but way more useful. I purchased an ADS brand USB 2.0/ Firewire enclosure that works with SMS. 30 bucks at Fry's and it works with everything else too Win 98, XP, MAC, LINUX. Another advantage of these type of dual use enclosures is you can hook up both the PC and PS2 at the same time. PC with firewire, PS2 with USB. Obviously you can only use one or the other at the same time, but this prevents constant cable swapping when copying new content to the drive.
woohoo I got my hdd enclosure, used partition magic to make it fat32 primary, and it worked in SMS, files played fine.
thanks for the help
good to hear, what model did you go with?
just a generic brand, it was only $30nzd, thats about $15usd.
After converting it to fat32 it worked in SMS.
