uncertain usb trouble
So USB is not working for me with SMS 1.8.2. The Icon never appears. At least some of my drives work in uLaunchELF however.
I have tried 3 different versions of USBD.IRX.
The napalm one from the archive on their site.
usbhdfsd.irx from the uLaunchELF 4.0.6 archive.
and the GT4 one.
I have tried putting them in both /SYS-CONF/ and /BOOT/ on my PS2 memory card (in the first slot.)
and I have tried 4 different USB drives:
a crucial SD/MMC card reader (CR-T7-U2D)
and a PNY attache (yes, I know it probably won't work no matter what)
an iPod ( I forget which model.)
a bytecc USB 2.0 enclosure with a hard drive in it ( which has been somewhat buggy on my PC lately.)
These all have FAT16 or FAT32 on them.
At first I thought it was both my drives that were the issue, but then I realized that I never see SMS saying it is loading the USB driver when it says it is loading the rest. Should I expect it to say it is loading it? Any other suggestion that people may have is appreciated.
Never Mind. I just realized that you have to enable USB support from the options. Perhaps you guys should mention this in the instructions.
Is it still true that SMS uses an external USBD.IRX?
no, sms has the USBD.IRX built in now, but you can use external ones on the memory card, if placed in the right location. i'm not sure what all the locations are, but i believe one of them is MC0/SYS-CONF.
