Trouble playing AVI in SMS ver 2.1 (Rev 2)

Can anyone else play this??

The sound plays for about 20 seconds but no picture, then it just hangs....

@Psychic Bison: no probs here from USB. If you're playing this from network than it's most probably buggy network driver (will be reverted back in the next revision)...

Strange, wouldn't work for me on usb or from DVD.....

No access to network so can't try that!!

...to tell the truth, I didn't tried it with SMS version from my homepage (I don't have it anymore) but with "working" copy which has quite a lot of changes...

Tried this on SMS 2.2, all i get is sound and a black screen, then it hangs....

I don't get it.....

Why would my ps2 perform differently??

Do you think reconverting it would make any difference? If so can you reccomend a program and optimum settings that i should use to convert it??

Its really annoying as i have downloaded loads of AVI's but now i can't watch em as i have no PC

. I can't help you right now as I'm at work, but I can take a deeper look at it tonight (maybe it depends on PAL/NTSC settings (I've tried only PAL) or whatever things)...

i tested his clip and here is the result , i also posted the answer in the ps2hd site :

first used sms v 2.2

from USB wokring greate ..audio and video fine

from HDD working greate ...audio and video fine

used sms v 2.0 Rev 4

from USB wokring greate ..audio and video fine

from HDD working greate ...audio and video fine

but you have to wait for 10 second or less to get start ...

and the video is about 1 min i guess

so there is no problem with sms at all ...

he is going to convert the orginal one and he will post the results

"...but you have to wait for 10 second or less to get start...": yes, USB on PS2 is pretty slow (~500KB/s) and SMS has ~5MB buffer, so during that 10 seconds this buffer just get filled...
