SMS + server samba (vodafone station)
that's my first post here, hope you're gonna help ;)
Well, I'll try to be fast and as much precise as possible :
My Ps2 is matrix infinity modded
Have SMS 2.9 (rev3) installed on my mc and I'd like to play files stored on a samba server composed by a vodafone station (the actual samba server) with a USB extarnal HD attached.
For who doesn't know, vodafone station is practically a wi-fi router given by vodafone to its broadband home subscribers that also work as a samba server.
I activated the server, given "vodafone" as name, created user and password to share all HD partitions and given to the user read/write rights.
On SMS side, I created the SMS.smb file with following datas :
192.168.1.1 (ip address of the samba server)
VODAFONE (name of samba server)
playstation (name of ps2)
I load SMS, go to device settings and stop network support; then go to network settings, choose SMB/CIFS and activate network support...
At this point SMS stucks on "reading files"... I can see the "network HD" icon on top of the screen, but the prog freezes and I can't do nothing but to reboot...
Just to try and understand if there was any type of communication between SMS and samba server I tried not to put username and password on SMS.smb file, and in fact SMS tells me "incorrect user or pass" or something like that, but in any case that means that there's an interaction between vodafone station and ps2....
I really don't know how to make things work...I did everything right I guess, so...
Guys, I rely on you...
