    theres a splash of bubbles and sound. no image and soon enough, it dies completely. just freezes up the screen and the disc is spinning madly in the ps2.

    any help would be appreciated

    try buring a new disc at a slower speed and maybe use different media, sounds like a disc issue..........but im not 100% sure as you havent given any info to suggest anything else.

    thanks for your quick reply mate

    do you have a link to a tutorial that step by step tells you what to burn, etc?

    i tried one with files such as usb.irx, system, sms.elf - but doesnt work. when i try and search the usb for files after, it says its an invalid file or unappropriate..

    yep, sure do.....SMS has a user Manual Theres instructions to properly create and burn your disc.

    i had the same problem before, and after some time i discovered that the problem was in the movie file itself. the video codec was not xvid or divx, it was WMV or WM9, i think. to be sure try to google for the program avi2clipboard. it's a handy tool to make sure if your video plays on sms. have a nice day!
