  1. #1 SMS to play videos off USB storage help pls!

Ok im using the latest version of sms "SMS Version 1.6 (Rev.6).elf" and i can play files off a CD-R using the method in the guide, which is good. I wanted to play off my USB storage , so i followed the instructions as in the guide i tried the following directory for the "USBD.IRX"

    mc0:/SMS/USBD.IRX

and the "SMS Version 1.6 (Rev.6).elf" being in the same directory

    mc0:/SMS/SMS Version 1.6 (Rev.6).elf

i plug in my usb memory and sms does nothing (tried with USB memroy stick and iPod), no icon at the top. only thing i can think of that could be at fault is that when using flash xp the directory im actually tranferring to is this:

    mc/0/SMS/USB.IRX
    mc/0/SMS/SMS Version 1.6 (Rev.6).elf

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

anyone know what im doing wrong?? thanks

Rev6 comes with USBD.IRx inside the elf file. U don't need an external USBD.IRX file anymore. But the problems with the old driver still exist, some devices are still not recognized, so...

I've just realised that the manual does not tell you that you need to turn on USB support.

This was because previous versions of SMS had USB on by default, but now it's off by default. I'll correct the manual with the next update. Also I'll add the hdd tutorial section that Nuno submitted.

Your USB HDD works because it is Fat32 formatted....DVDs are not. UDF and NTFS are not supported in the homebrew development library.
