SMS Network Streaming?
I just downloaded and installed the SMS and I wonder if/how it`s possible to connect the ps2 by network to the PC! I know that there`s a way by using PS2Autoclient, but I can`t figure out how it works!
Someone`s got an idea?
make the correct TCP/IP settings in SMS (CONFIG.DAT)
then the correct settings on the NIC that is attached to the PS2
I use Rad Host Client 1.7
Am using an X-over cable.
PC IP: 192.168.0.1
GATEWAY: not important <-- if router, set router IP here.
PS2 IP: 192.168.0.10
GATEWAY: 192.168.0.1 <-- If router, set router IP here
open port 20 - 21 in your router
You could have looked up in the manual for instructions on how to do this... it's all there, actually it's one of the best sections of the manual imo
In this cas, for me, this is not streaming. This is just a share device (like USB or HDD). I didn't found any information on this in this forum.
The main problem - for me - with SMS is that the "smooth playback" which is not smooth.
In the case (only in this case) where avi files are on a network place on a PC (under Windows or Linux), why not make true streaming via tools like VLC (which is free) ? It will resolve 2 problems : codec (VLC could make conversion from different sources) and smooth playback. VLC has streaming capabilities see here : http://www.videolan.org/doc/streamin...-howto-en.html
I know that these request is not develop-less !
I hope it was not a crazy question  !
all my avi files i play (not hd content) work perfectly over network or from hdd/usb (rarely use those).
