SMS hangs while starting
SMS hangs while starting –
hello, IĀ“m trying to run SMS from USB and first it worked, I moddified some settings and saved, after that I restart my ps2 and tried to run SMS again but it stays in "locating USBD.IRX"
I read on a guide:
I donĀ“t know what host is but using ulaunchelf I created a boot folder on mc0:/ and pasted the USBD file, I even pasted in the SMS folder but it still hangs in "locating USBD.IRX"
SMS is capable of reading files from a USB drive, but due to liscencing issues, the USB driver USBD.IRX is not included with the SMS distribution. SMS looks for it in the following folders:
I also tried to run SMS from the memory card but itĀ“s the same.
what am I doing wrong?
EDIT: I just noticed I activated "autostart USB" option, the problem is SMS never finds USBD.IRX file.

I have the same exact problem however I have never been able to use USB in SMS. I have been able to use my USB pen drive when install programs in BM so I know its not the drive. I downloaded USBD.IRX and have also tried using it from a PS2 game. Either way it freezes when locating the file. I have a crystal 2.0 SLE and am using a copy of SMS from Boot Manager Essential Pack 1.0 located in the modchip section. Any help would be appreciated.
...see my post above. Shutdown that "MM" and launch SMS from MC (I've also got CC 2.0 SLE)...
I switched to a newer version of SMS and it was able to boot just fine. I wasn't sure what you meant by that because i'm fairly new to this scene.
