hello EEUG, excellent work, I am an "SMS ADDICT".
You can add a function to capture screens? from movies, and perhaps store them in USB Pendrive. Something similar to the option of “SAVE IMAGE” of the Windows Media player.
Great JOB, Thanks a lot.:)

@ankitvkc: ...yes, by setting "Controller port 2" to none. My console doesn't have built-in IR, but some folks who have built-in IR reported that it works. MPEG1/2 support is "work in progress". Rather slow one, I must admit :D Video decoder is ready and now I'm busy with demuxer and other stuff...
I came to know that the developer of SMS media player is on this forum. Nice job EEUG.
About the feature request we don?t have any right to ask you for more features as you already done a lot and all for free. This is a very big thing in itself. However if you want ideas for improving the new SMS media Player so here?s few things:
1:- For music playback, playlist creation, Shuffle, Loop, Song slider, Playback when user is browsing the albums and artists are must which SMS lacks.
2:- Video playback of some popular video format like MPEG-2, VOB(DVD playback), VCD?s and may be 3GP too if possible as these formats are much popular than AVI format, at least in my country.
3:- Images: - Support for JPEG and BMP images slideshows or may be with a song playing in background if possible.
4:- It?s enough man you can?t even dare to expect anything else form a free application.
A good PS2 coupled with SMS player with above features will throw all Network Media Receivers and Media Player out of business. That?s all.
Now my PS2 is networked and this is all because of dianor. Thanks a lot. However all my FTP clients failed to serve me but my own internet explorer helped me a lot. Now I don?t need any FTP client. Friends problem is not over yet. I downloaded Red Host Client?s 1.7 version and entered my PC?s media directories into it and then started SMS on PS2 (which was already connected to LAN by uLaunchELF) and then Started ?Network? from SMS player. The moment I pressed ?X? on ?start network? my PC LAN shows ?Network cable unplugged? and again got connected (not sure) and waited for 20-25(10-15 sec. mentioned in SMS user manual) seconds but SMS on PS2 doesn?t shows any networked device. I?d even tried by restarting Red Host client on my PC again and again but not working.
I feel like a total mooch making a request... :P But MKV support would really be great. I mostly watch anime, and lately more and more groups seem to be moving over to this format, and now it's becoming a big pain to try and find avi versions.
Anyway, thanks for all the great work!
sms itself now is a very good player that could support network stream, hdd, and usb. it has features that make it strong among others.. but i would like to suggest that sms can become the best media player for ps2 if it could support other media files type such as
- DAT (vcd files)
- MPG,MPEG (most pc videos is in this format)
- WMA or WMV (windows media files also comes with great small file size)
and other minority file types such as MOV (quicktime video) or JPEG (for image viewing).. that's all..
the the most important is the main file formats listed above. thank you in advance. u already did a very good job with SMS.
Hello everybody!!
I have file with the new codec divx 6, in file there are: video, 2 ac3 audios, and 3 subtitles (english subs, spanish subs and forced spanish subs) all included inside the file. There is a new feature in divx 6, the subtitles are includen in file!!
The problem is than sms plays video and audios but don't play subtitles. Is possible this new features in futur sms??
Thanks and bye!!
PD: I think that before I put this post in incorrect place...:(
I think it would be nice to have .rm support. Its a nasty format and real player is lame. And when I try to watch with Windows Media Player, I can't get VobSub to work.
yea i would really like to request rmvb support...
