    Try moving or deleting the file SMS.cfg from mc0:/SMS/ and configure again sms (saving the configs after that) to create a new fresh one.

    I've already done this.

    Why would this work? The way I've set it up, I can boot with swapmagic and press up+L1 to run SMS. I think I might try putting the older SMS on my memory card first.

    ----- snip ----- re: using uLE to launch SMS instead of having SwapMagic do it

    Because SwapMagic has issues with launching various homebrews.
    I'm not sure that it will work better with uLE for you, but I think it may.
    In any case, It's definitely worth trying.

    You can do that, sure, but I suggest you try with uLE stored as "SMBOOT1.ELF", using up+L2 to run it. This way you can leave SMS installed as-is for this test (assuming you have enough room on the MC).

    Whatever else may or may not work in your console, I've never had uLE fail to launch SMS properly under any circumstances. So if SwapMagic has a problem launching SMS directly, then the best solution should be to let it start uLE instead, and use uLE to launch SMS and any other programs with which SwapMagic may have compatibility issues.

    Best regards: dlanor

    I'm having an issue with the SMS generated playlists (O function). When I skip to next track it freezes. SMS v2.2 rev2.
    I'm liking the remote support, but is there a way that I can use both the remote and the controller dpad?

    "When I skip to next track it freezes": I'm aware of that. Next release will hopefully fix that (it's file dependent, i.e. sometimes it freezes and sometimes not depending on actual mp3 file);
    "use both the remote and the controller": port 1 serves pad only while port 2 serves either pad or remote depending on SMS/PS2/RC configuration. So, generally, it is possible to use both at the same time.

    Ok, I've narrowed it down to a specific mp3, but if I just play the mp3 it works fine. But when I playlist the folder, it freezes when I skip to the second song.

    I've got a v9 with built in IR receiver. This feature lets me use the Universal Gamer remote I had issues with before (works great now too btw). Originally I was able to use the Sony remote (SCPH-10420) and the controller simultaneously, but changing the Dpad to remote disables the controller's Dpad.
    New findings: When I change the Controller port 2 to Gamepad, and Dpad to Gamepad, I can use the controller as intended. But when Controller port 2 is set to Gamepad, and Dpad is set to Remote, I can't use any Dpad (controller port 1 or 2, or remotes) and have to reset the ps2. Keep in mind I'm a v9. Any thoughts EEUG?
