@Z-Saber: ...crapy encoder (program or a human who used it)...just joking. SMS is far from being perfect...
I know you aren't looking to waste your time with this, but if you're truly interested, I can give you links to torrent where I got the anime and the program that I'm using to convert. That way, you'd get the exact thing I have right now. Or, I could just upload the 200+ MB AVI file and you could grab that.
Like I said, I doubt you're THAT interested, but if you are, let me know and I'll more than happy to hook you up.
@Z-Saber: ...try 1.8 first. If that won't work, then use rapidshare.de to share your clip, so, I'll try to take a look at it. Thank you...
Doesn't work, EEUG. Same exact results with all three files. First one works, third one works, second plays as an MP3 with lots of distortion.
Hi again eeug...
I've been investigating this new SMS version 1.8. I figured out one thing regarding my subtitle code. The mDVD format is going just fine (but this is normal, since SMS supported it already in earlier versions).
There is a huge problem with other formats. For both TMP and MPL2 the SMS1.8 is just hanging at "Loadin subtitle". The one thing I coud get was this picture (is there a possibility to disable iop reset somwhere in this app? I didn't really check it... But it still wouldn't be much helpfull as this version doesn't give a whole much of debug info ;P )
I'm sure my code was ok... Since it works fine when I compile it on my box (using 1.7.6 source). The registers dump on the image above could be helpfull for debuging... but I will probably wait until you release the source for 1.8 and then I will check this more carefully.
Might this be some compiler differencies? I really doubt... I shouldn't also be PS2SDK revision problems in this one (I think...). There must've been something else...
PS. I'm male... so "he" is the way to go ;P

So, EEUG, let me confirm that you want me to upload the very large AVI file. I don't want to go through the trouble of it without knowing that you are indeed aware it is a big file and will take a while.
When playing files over the network whenever I hit select to pause the video in the middle of watching something it freezes when trying to resume by pressing X. At this point I have to reboot the PS2 and the restart the video again but this time pressing select and skipping forward works just fine. This is SMS 1.8 and just notcied this when I upgraded today. Anyone else having freezing issues?
I've had versions of SMS (as far back as I remember) freeze when paused over network about 1 out of 50 pauses (too rare to troubleshoot). Does this happen every time for you? You could try increasing the CPU priority of the PC client, but that may have nothing to do with it...
@ffgriever: ...I'll put source to the SVN as soon as I'll have time for integration. Meanwhile, you can just post your problematic .txt file, so, I'll try to take a look at it. Thank you...
@Z-Saber:...yes, just share it (rapidshare.de, please, as I don't use torrent) and I'll pick it up (use PM to provide a link), there's no problem here with INet bandwidth...
Here is a sample of mpl2 and tmp subtitle format... It's just two lines, but it should be enough... It also happens on any other subtitles in this format.
