Found this from that smap.c: // many routines are taken from drivers/ps2/smap.c of PS2 Linux kernel (GPL).
so they must have copied the non-working one.. I've been trying to find out what has been fixed at the linux's smap but I really don't see anything that makes the difference (I am not a professional programmer so that may be the reason..)
I've also tried minor modifications to the ps2eth project but no luck so far and debugging of that driver seems to be impossible so I'm kind of shooting blind here..
PS2Reality's mediaplayer seems to use different smap becouse that program doesn't hang. I don't like that program though SMS seems to give better framerate atleast when playing from a disc and it doesn't have annoying background music at the menu..
Edit: Oh yes and when using ps2sdk and ps2link from svn to execute ulanunchelf, the ulaunchelf can't access the HDD correctly.. No problems with the older pre-compiled version though.
