    - uLaunchelf loads always fast, no 10-12 seconds wait. I think the network initialization is done the first time I try to access MISC/host (this option is aways there). That time I have the same 10-12 seconds pause and it aways fails. Does not matters if ps2cient was open or not, I have to exit MISc/host, restart ps2client and enter again at MISC/host.

    - SMS can't detect if ps2client is open before launching SMS. I have aways to start ps2client with SMS already fully launched, and aways have 10-12 seconds pause for network initialization, but instant access to host icon.

I think that if the network initialization time can be changed to happend only when ps2 client is used, then the host icon will need to be aways visible, just like the option at uLaunchelf, right? Then will have the same first-time-aways-fail thing... if a fix would be that way, just let the way it is now...
about either responding to ps2client when already opened. I remember dlanor mentioning previously. ps2client thinks that the ps2 is host/master when it isn't. uLaunch.elf has to access host the first time to initialize the network and then load ps2client so that it can listen for the connection it established. Because of something along the lines of what I first mentioned, even if ps2client is open it won't find the connection after sms initializes the network and has to be restarted in order to find the connection. also about the part that you note is different in each app is simply because of the way each is designed. ulaunch.elf's host capabilites are locted in the filebrowser which is manual which is why you gotta select host to initialize network, load ps2client, and then reselect host functions to have it working properly. SMS is a little more automated in the sense that the devices only show up if there is a connection made to each, which is why if you don't have a usbthumbdrive/hdd attached it won't show up. So once you load the networks it will just automatically show up. I'm pretty sure if the setup of SMS was a directory structure same as ulaunch.elf you would experience the exact or similar problem.

@hip203: please, check your movie with other media (I don't have a modchip, so, no solution will ever come from me to fix ISO CD/DVD related problems) ...

...and if you try to play that movie from network or HDD, for example? (I'm just trying to locate the problem (if it's related to the movie itself or CD issue))...

    OK.... eugene ......
    Kindly allow me to explain.....
1.]I'm not having the problem with 1 of my 700mb movie files but
with 6 of them that I tested ...all different movie title......
All played fine for the first 20-25min....player hanged...all stop..loud sound emmiting
2.)I have a compilation of 70mb,200mb ...so far I have watch around 20 titles with the player all run smoothly.
3.)I have a question:The player is rendering superb resolution/colour/detailed off the 700mb movie(640x482,742x362,576x278) .I got a shock!! Ps2reality media player does not offer such resolution and detailed. ......Anyway could it be during rertain Hi moving scene.....cd/dvd iso not feeding or feeding to much data >hanged the player
4.)I have a mobile phone with a camera ....I could record the error When I playing the files ...Would It be a help?

I do some testing again perhaps I's split the movie to two pieces and played it to see whether it still render the problem.

    will let you know!!

@hip203: I've played a 800MB movie from CDDAFS without problems . So, if the problem lies inside 'cdvd.irx' driver then there's no way for me to fix it without modchip (that can impose such a behaviour also). Oh, yes, during 'Hi moving scene' SMS can hang for some time if there's insufficient bandwidth between external device and EE core. I've also experienced such a behavior, but it lasted here only for some seconds, so it 'unfreezes' again after data from the device had arrived (from HDD for the same movie there were no freezes here)...
