But then there must be some other cause for your sync problems, which I and many others do not get with our CBR videos. One such problem could be if your videos have some unusual non-standard framerate. This is known to give serious sync problems for SMS, as it has limited means of compensating for such things. (A modern PC can do it much better due to the faster CPU.)
For such cases it is still possible to use VirtualDub to re-encode the Video at a different framerate, but that will be a much slower process due to the greater amount of video data, and you may expect some loss of picture quality in the converted video (smarter filters and multi-pass encoding raises quality but also increases the conversion delay).
In that case it is probably just due to an oversight by EEUG.Quote:
radom MP3 playlist is random, but everytime I start SMS, the randomized playlist is the same :/
It is quite normal for a pseudo-random number generator (aka: RNG) to produce the same series of numbers when rerun with the same initial seed. To counteract this tendency for repetition, a common technique is to generate random numbers not only on specific demand, but also in ways dependent on the timing of user responses. Since it is impossible for a human being to use exactly the same timing in GUI interactions, this introduces a truly random element, giving a random starting point in the RNG sequence. So with this method added to SMS you would get different random playlists each time (assuming the RNG itself is good enough).
