First of all, I want to thank you all for the support on this very useful program! :)

It was working so smoothly that I've decided to expand my setup and buy a cheap NAS server running linux (Synology DS107) to move my media file from the PC to it.
Unfortunately this started the problem. :(
SMS has problem accessing the samba server on the NAS and it always hangs immediately on "Detecting file format" when opening a movie (I've tried several AVI DIVX till now but no audio). :wow:
I've seen that Pyrotech is having a similar problem so I followed his approach and sniffed the traffic using wireShark and ARP poisoning.
You can find attached the logs of two sessions that expose the same behaviour and my analysis for one of them.
The logs show that the code enters an endless loop reading the file to detect its format because doesn't recognize that the file is over (it seems to read a bit of header and trailer of the file to recognize the format, but when the trailer is completed it doesn't stop but continue to ask for more content..just to fill up his 4k read buffer )
I hope that the above helps on solving the problem.
I can add that the above sessions have been generated using SMS 2.8 rev 3 running from the memory card.
I had the same problem with the previous version while using SMS 2.0 rev 2 from a CD the behaviour is a little bit different and SMS hangs on "Loading indices".
Thanks again to everybody for the support and to Eugene for his huge work.
