I have followed these instructions and for the life of me cannot get a background to work in SMS player, can anyone help.

SMS SkinsCustom Skins for Simple Media System
    - Using pic2smi convert SMS.jpg to SMS.smi file; place "SMS.smi" in SMS folder loacated on mc0.
    - Check "Use Background Image" under "Browser Settings" to activate skin.
    - Upload skin resolutions (640x480).
I have also followed the instructions in the sms manual using USB and not FTP, i still get no background.

Someone pont out where i'm being an idiot

Try calling it SMS.skn. The manual was ambiguous and I ended up putting both SMS.smi and SMS.skn in the SMS diretory on mc0. One of them is working...

Done this but no luck. Can any of the programmers make it easier to apply skins, for some reason its not as easy as it appears.....

Someone who DEFINATELY knows would help, does anyone?

...I'll put skin example to my homepage, so you can try it out. Btw., in must be mc0:/SMS/SMS.smi (case sensitive)...

Edit: ...I've updated my homepage with skin example and brief instructions to make one...

Nice one eeug, i've tried literally every different naming option SMS.skn, SMS.smi but no luck

The confusing thing is the image then shows up in ULE as SMS.smi.smi or SMS.skn.smi, it looks like i should not be adding the .skn or .smi

Sorry for the random questions but i have no PC near my PS2 when i'm @ home!!

Keep up the good work dude, SMS is amazing!!

err, go to windows explorer > tools > folder options
    go to "view"
uncheck the "hide extension for known file type"

    and try renaming to SMS.smi

if that not work and still

    Run > CMD > enter

go to the directory whre the bacground file

    type :

    ren bacground.xyz SMS.smi

    hope that will work
