hello yall. i just recieved a ps2 broadband adapter in the mail yesterday. i havent really messed with it just yet. but i have noticed some differences in SMS just from having it screwed in.

im using sms 2.9 revision 4 (the latest one i think). and since yesterday when i plugged in the adapter to the back of the ps2 i have noticed these things.

sms will only read what is plugged in when it starts up. if i plug my mp3player or external hard drive while sms is already up and running it is too late. when of course it used to read whatever i plugged in at the moment. (of course i have the autostart usb option turned on).

on the occasions when sms freezes up on me (usually when i select a music file). it no longer responds to the reset/standby button. i have to flick the switch.

also when the ps2 is not frozen and i go to hit the button to shut it down. it takes an extra second or 2 to shut down now. like i have to hold the button for maybe a full 10 seconds

these problems showed themselves when i added a network adapter to my ps2.

You should switch back to 2.9 rev3 , 4 is buggy

y thank you. i'll give it a try. just reporting some specific bugs i guess.

ahh yes. rev 3 works perfectly. and even faster loading times than im used to with my flac playlists

now that im comparing the 2 i can also note that rev 3 seems to have better randomization than rev 4.

revision 4 i began to notice after a whil would keep giving me the same "randomized" playlist of my huge mix folder of music. revision 3 seems to have beter actual randomization. maybe thats just me.

This is perfectly normal for a FAT PS2 with the NA installed, and active.

ok so revision 3 seens to have stuttering .avi movies played from my usb hard drive.

so this may be a dilemma if revision 4 does not work with my configuration file from revision 3.

unless a revision 4 config file will work with revision 3.

i will try all of these things. but note that i am getting better .avi performance with revision 4 while revision 3 shows unwatchable stuttering on some movies

testing with my flash device (mp3 player), no more stuttering. revision 3 has problems with stuttering only from my usb hard drive (wd elements 640 gb, AC 12v powered) which revision 4 does not.

however these problems dont show at all playing from flash device
