i use component cable to connect my ps2 to plasma , when i enable the VESA mode (640x480@60hz) ,the screen is displayed incorrectly .Do i need to enable the RGB mode in ps2 ? Can i enable the 480p mode so i can use higher resolution(720x480)?

@jacky401: as I wrote the only way I can test VESA modes is using my only sync-on-green compatible TFT monitor and official Sony's cable. With that equipment two VESA modes currently enabled in SMS work OK here (well, there's some garbage at the right side of screen, but it can be removied by shifting image right a bit). Other modes (800x600 etc.) don't work at the moment...

Jacky401, i believe that 480p resolution is 640x480 (4x3). The problem, i believe, is that vesa 640x480 =! 480p. otherwise it would have worked in your tv in progressive scan.
it would be nice if progressive scan could be implemented later though...
