Samba access doesn't work with FB router
Samba access doesn't work with FB router –
I have a router (Fritz!Box 7270) that also has an integrated USB-socked and smb server. So I plugged in an USB-stick to watch some movies with SMS via samba. The router should share the whole USB drive via samba. If I try to access it with windows explorer via "\\fritz.box\" I see the USB drive with the normal network folder symbol named "Corsair-FlashVoyager-01".
Now SMS somehow seems to find this thing too (I get the smb-symbol on top and "smb 0:" in the bottom), but it doesn't show any shared content in the main window. Is it because of the dot in the router's smb name? Or the long folder name? Or something else?
The section for the router in the SMS.smb file is
The PS2's IP is 192.168.1.10 and get's also found by the router.
Sry for bad english, but I'd really appreciate any help.
I have exactly the same problem, also with a USB hard disk at FB.
I can just add the info, that it works fine with the Argon player, where you need to specify the exact shared directory name.
So I guess it is a problem with the shared name.
KastenKopf, I have found this (http://www.ip-phone-forum.de/archive.../t-130001.html) workaround which I will try today.
It explains how to shorten the name of the shared device in the FritzBox. It should work, but is not really the solution.

Reason: found a workaround
I have just tried the workaround and it works fine.
Not nice: as soon as you reboot your FB or remount your USB device, you need to change the name again.
Hope this is still helpful...
