I was wondering if anyone knows of a sure-fire way to reencode an xvid file so that it'll play on SMS w/o any problems. I've got a couple movies that either crash SMS or cause SMS to hang.

Use VirtualDub in Direct Stream copy, it might solve your probs. It solves most of my problems...

The same video and same audio are copied from the source and freshly muxed together. This often corrects problems resulting from bad interleaving in the original. This is not re-encoding, so there is no quality loss.

yeah, I've noticed this. And it seems that the resulting video is just a tad bigger in filesize, no big deal though, as long as it doesn't cause SMS to hang

I have the entire Robotech series as OGM files and am using alltoavi to convert to divx. Would it be best to also run them through virtualdub or should they play fine after converting with alltoavi?
