    Hy everyvone.

I know this subforum is little outdate, but I have few important questions. I hope you can help me, because SMS is really important to me, because I use it every day.

My first and biggest problem is playing files over network [LAN].

I manage to configure IP adresess properly and everything else, but my computer doesn't recognize PS2 (Network Cable unplugged). It is LAN, integreated adapter "VIA Rhine II Fast Ethernet Adapter". I have tryed with ps2client-gui and Rad Host Client also, result is the same. I am sure that configuration is allright because I tried connecting PS2 with sister's laptop (same cables, same IPs) and it worked! So it is up to my LAN adapter, but I don't know why doesn't work? Connected my PC and laptop, it worked, using it everyday for incoming internet connection and it works without any problem. It just can't recognize PS2, just like it isn't plugged. (Tried SMS r2 and r4

And my second problem, actually a question.
I have a movie (BR rip, avi, 3.7 GB 1280 X 536 resoluton) and when i play it, it can't load it, says something like : Video resolution is too big. Is there any chance to play it on SMS? Version 2.9 r4

    Thanks in advance!

This is odd. What are your Network Adaptor and PS2 models? What is the maximum speed supported by those devices that the both of you connected your PS2 to?

The SCPH-10190 PCMCIA network adaptor of my SCPH-10000 refuses to work properly at all with any 1Gbit network devices, and automatic negotiation fails (After a loooooooong time).

    I don't know about the SCPH-10350 network adaptor, as I use a SCPH-10281 with my SCPH-39006 console.
    Unmodified SCPH-77006 with SM 3.6
SCPH-39006 with M-chip modchip, SCPH-10281 NA and refurb Seagate 80GB HDD
SCPH-10000 v1.00 with SCPH-10190 PCMCIA NA and SCPH-20400 HDD unit

    PS2 model is: SCPH-70004 [slim].
Network adapter model: VIA Rhine II Fast Ethernet Adapter (integreated in MBO - ASUS P5VDC-MX)
PC's network adapter max speed is 100 Mbps.

you are direct connecting the PS2 to the PC ? no router or hub/switch in between?

if this is correct then you need a crossover cable to connect to your PC, the reason you sisters laptop worked is that some newer network ports auto switch if they dont get a connection.
the ASUS mobo is quite old now ( in computer life ) and does not have that feature.

So, using crossover cable might work? This problem occur because the integreated LAN adaptor doesn't have some feautures because it is old?

    thx for ansfering.
