Problems with USB stick
Problems with USB stick –
I have a 1gb Comsol, Flash drive. The problem im having is that i cant get sms to recognise it. ive coppied USBD.IRX to mc0:/sms/ , And ive tried formating the stick in both Fat and Fat32. Thanks for any help.
By the way: the stick is recognised in Launch ELF.
Hey Guys, Fixed the problem. i needed to turn on all the usb options in the device menu. Sms is Awesome!
what option ? cause I still having problem with USB flashdrive as well.
open SMS, press START go to device settings i think, turn on USB.
I did that and no luck. I guess SMS doesn't compatible with my USB stick. uLaunchElf and codebreaker are working fine though.
ulauncheld uses a USBD.IRX from ps2dev.org i believe.
Dlanor has implemted it in ulaunchELF.
so if u were to download that file, and u place it on your memory card.
it shouldwork fine too.
SMS is capable of reading files from a USB drive, but due to liscencing issues, the USB driver USBD.IRX is not included with the SMS distribution. SMS looks for it in the following folders:
A suitable version of USBD.IRX can be found within the distribution of naplink: naplink-ps2-v1.0.1a. This can be found at http://naplink.napalm-x.com/.
Your info is a couple months out of date, from SMS Readme:
- USBD.IRX (free one, from ps2dev) is now integrated into SMS. No need for
"external" usb driver anymore (thanks to "dlanor" for the suggestion);
oops, ur right, am very sorry for this misguided info.
I guess uLe and SMS use the same USBD.IRX, so its kinda weird his stick doesnt work on both
Not really. If it's a filesystem issue then it isn't "USBD.IRX" that affects it, but "usb_mass.irx". We've made many patches for that driver as part of the uLaunchELF project. I haven't been involved in all of them myself though, so I can't really say which of them is causing this difference in functionality for his flash drive.
