Firstly I just want to say WOW sms what a program. I was about to buy a dvd player with support for divx when I found SMS a few days ago and I am loving it.

Now on to my question I am going to buy a remote control for my ps2 and I want to know if there is a model/ make of remote control that can power on the ps2 from standby ( I am lazy and don?t want to leave the chair to turn on the ps2)

    p.s i have a version 5 ps2 (not sure if this make a difference).

For sure. And you can exit to the browser, or for example LaunchELF, which could be used to start another program or game. Most of the the time you only need to turn on your PS2 once. If you're playing a game and want to reset or do something else via remote, you'll need a PS2 with a built-in IR reciever (V9+).

yay for V9! pity the lasers burn out so easily... although my dvd has support for divx, and about 5 types of flash memory, i still use SMS (diferent TV).

i do not reccommend running your media off the DVDROM though. laser replacement is expensive.

there is a shop here in my city that would replace my laser for $AU150. Sony would fix it for $110.
