Pls. help! Can't run SMS off a memcard.

Somebody please help me, I'm completely stuck. SMS runs fine off a CD by itself, and also from the memcard if I start it using uLaunchELF booted from CD. However it shows as "Corrupt Data" in PS2 Browser. uLaunchELF won't start from the memcard either. Is there anything I could do to make it work without booting from the CD ???
My hardware is a modchipped slim PStwo (although I dont know what chip exactly is installed there) with an original 8Mb Sony memcard. Could this be caused by a modchip problem or limitation ???

You cant launch applications directly from the PS2 browser. On my PS2 I need to hold R1 while booting so it accesses the mc and launch ulaunchELF automatically. I got a matrix infinity modchip.

Not all chips are able to boot apps off the MC. First you need to know which chip you have installed, then we can tell you if it's capable of "DEV1"(= booting elf from MC).
The PS2browser shows corrupt data, because you didn't install a correct icon that can be displayed by the browser. Or you even copied the elf to the root of your MC. If you want to get rid of the corrupt data, move the elf into a folder and add a "icon.sys" and a icon-file.
