Trying to play vids i have downloaded from youtube/google once i have downloaded em using this free program vdownloader:

    http://vdownloader.en.softonic.com/

Its a good bit of kit and converts the videos to avi, dvd or many other file types. I have been converting them to AVI. My issue is that some files will play without issues but then some will not, you get the sound but just the random bubbly visualisation.

I am using SMS 2.3 but no joy so far. Here is a couple that did not work, maybe some of you guys could try the same process and try downloading them using vdownloader then playing them on sms and see if it works?

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DqaW15tnbcw[/ame]

or here is one i have uploaded once i downloaded it:

    http://www.4shared.com/file/17733231...ed8/saudi.html

Sorry for the long post but its doing my head in, maybe i'm doing this all wrong and you can reccomend a tried and tested way of getting these clips to work once downloaded from google video/youtube. Or maybe i should just re convert them with autogk but that seems like a long process considering i already have the files.

phew..... sorry for the rambling, hope you can help

SMS doesn't support flash video(.flv) the videos from those sites are in flv format and to play them you must convert them.I download the clip from youtube and convert it with my software because the link you give isn't working nor the converted video link,I try my converted clip and everything was s ok.I use DivX as a video encoder

And if you talking about the bad video quality after the convection that's normal...

You convert a video file with low video resolution 320x240 and run it on at least 640x480 of course it will be with bad quality even on PC isn't look very good

I don't really understand what is your problem but for me everything is ok with this video after I convert it

No they are flv files before to convert them...I know what I'm talking, and the software that I use is Super but I can't give you the exact link,it was real pain finding it and I don't remember where it was

As for that program you give the first time I try it,it convert the file to avi but SMS play it as music file...try using Xvid as AVI Codec(option menu)and choose Apply because I don't think SMS supports msmpeg4v2

I try now to change the avi codec but the video is again with Microsoft Mpeg 4 version 2 encoded...I don't know why

Try with my program or other software that allow you to choose the avi codec as DivX

The video you give me from the 4share link has no sound on my PC and it's encoded with the same Microsoft Mpeg 4 version 2 and since has no sound and on the SMS run as audio file...nothing is playing...Like I say choose different software to download the videos

But the video must be flv(before convert it with VDownload)because the quality will become even worse you just need to download the video not to convert it automatically like VDownload

yep, using the firefox plugin to get the .flv then using super to reencode. Had some success but the sound was all screwed, do you do anything in the audio options?

also do you use ffmpeg, Mencoder, etc to encode? gives you the choice at the top of the program....
