Ogg files freeze sms –
I have a number of CD's that I have archived into Monkey's audio (.ape) format. I have converted them into Ogg files by first converting them to a Wav file and then a single Ogg file and finally splitting them into the orginal tracks. When I try to play them back in SMS, the first file plays back fine but if I try to play back any of the other Ogg files, SMS locks-up and has to be reset by powering it off. The same files play fine on my pc/laptop. I have uploaded one of the problem Ogg files here:
I am using a Slackware type Linux distrubution and the following software:
mac - to convert .ape files to .wav
oggenc - to convert the .wav file to .ogg
mp3split - to split the large .ogg file to the individual album tracks, using the .ape cue sheet
mp3split contrary to its name, does split Ogg files as well!.
...I've fixed it, so you can get the update from my homepage. Thank you for the sample (really helpful)...
Thanks EEUG, i'll give it a try as soon as my family let me have control of the tv!
BTW, just out of curiosity what was the cause of the problem?.
..."just out of curiosity what was the cause of the problem?": incorrect code ...
Hi EEUG, did you manage to download the extra files I uploaded?, if so did they also freeze on your setup?.
...I was on some sort of vacations, so I couldn't watch the forum. You have 2 weeks to re-upload the files before I'll disappear till September ...
...I've fixed that also. You can find the update inside 'New network driver' thread. Concerning 6 channel sound: PS2 does not support such a sound, so new code that mixes 6 channels to 2 should be developed. Maybe one day Currently I've just disabled it, so 'Unsupported file format' message will be displayed if you try to play such a file. Thank you...
