What audio codec do your videos have?
Do you have "S/PDIF - Dolby Digital" turn on?
What sort of audio connection do you have to your sound system/tv?

You didn't answer my question about your Dolby Digital setting in the SMS Menu.
If you have an AC3 audio steam, and RCA plugs (red/white), you need to turn off "S/PDIF - Dolby Digital". Otherwise SMS tries to pass the Dolby Digital through the optical cable, which doesn't exist, so obviously you get no sound. This is why "S/PDIF - Dolby Digital" is off by default. I hope this is your problem, because it is easily corrected.
