no audio in some .avi files

hi! i'm using sms v2 r4, and when i play some .avi files(not divx or xvid), there is no audio. the volume bar does not also appear. is there anything i can do here to play these files with audio? thanks in advance!

may be u r using a codec not supported by SMS, also try SMS v 2.1 it`s just released !!!

SMS only support DivX and XviD video

. Yes most probably specified .avi file(s) have unsupported audio (or they have ac3 sound and 'S/PDIF - Dolby Digital' option is turned 'on' without understanding what this option means. And it means that sound bitstream is sent only to PS2's optical output 'as-is' (it's also called passthrough mode), so capable external decoder should decode it)...

so to play the movie with audio, i have to turn this off?
