I'm still working on a modded PS2 setup that is driving me insane. But in the meantime I wanted to ask if anyone knew if SMS supports or will support Nero Digital Media (.mp4). I've been ripping most of my movies using Nero Recode so my collection can be ready for a media center. If this codec is supported tho, I will be very happy. So someone let me know. Thanks.

    Nero Digital MP4 . is using H.264..
and i doubt PS2 CPU can decode that "heavy" video codec..

even my 1.4GHz PC cant play H.264 ( a hell lot of skipping )

Well, According to Christian HJW (Matroska project admin) H264 is playable
on Pocket PC using the TCPMP code based players. So 320x240 and maybe higher reslutions are playable on very slow CPUs.

Divx 5 already very heavy on my 300mhz intel xscale pda. I also have tried h264. And max res is 160x120. Higher than that give very chopy video and audio out of sync.

It would be nice if that fast decoder allowed H.264 1080p video on a PS2.

i don't get it, the PSP plays h264, but it's only running at like 266mhz?

Why would a PC going over 1ghz have trouble with this codec?

because PSP cpu is RISC and PC cpu is CISC. and H264 in PSP only in low-res. try play 720p H264 on PSP, it will be really skippy

btw, TCPMP play all my 720p h264 smoothly, no skipping
