    Hey guys

I have a problem when playing movies with SMS. The movie plays smoothly for a about a minute and then begins to lag. The movie will 'pause/jitter' and then continue for a few seconds before it 'pauses/jitters' again. This occurs when playing a movie from a usb flash drive as well as over the network.

It also occurs when playing episodes from tv series but it's not that bad. The jitter when watching a movie is so bad that I can't even watch the movie.

Does anybody know how to fix this?

There are many possible causes for such problems, and like TnA already implied some of those problems are due to the video encoding and to evaluate that possibility we need to know more about the videos giving you these problems.

Another possible cause of such jitters and stutters is that you may have unsuitable 'synch parameter' settings in the 'advanced settings' section of your 'Display settings'. These do not normally matter much when you use the normal PAL/NTSC resolutions. But if you tell SMS to use 720p or 1080i, then you may need to adjust those parameters to avoid flickers, jitters and stutters in video playback.

NB: These synch parameter settings are individual for each video mode of SMS, so changing them in one video mode will not affect the settings for another video mode.

    Best regards: dlanor

This is an example of one of the files. It played smoothly for one minute and then began jittering. I've attached a GSpot screenie...

@dlanor - I will try out the 'sync parameter' settings tonight.

    It looks o.k.
Maybe it canīt sync properly with the frame-rate.
I think the parameters are worth a try.
