I've followed the manual on the site.

I already have the uLaunch and SMS on my MC and I have tried the ftp with uLaunch, it works.

But when I activated RadHostClient on my pc when SMS is on, SMS does not detect anything as stated in the manual.

    My PC IP settings:
    IP: 192.168.2.15
    Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
    Gateway: 192.168.2.1

    My PS2 IP settings:
    IP: 192.168.2.10
    Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
    Gateway: 192.168.2.1

I'm using a router to link the pc and ps2 together. And for sure the FTP works, and I've tried pinging the ip of my ps2 from my pc and that works too.

I don't know whats wrong, anyone wanna help me? thanks

My question and uncertainty is: I copied the BOOT.ELF and SMS.ELF onto my MC and when I tried to browse it from my ps2 browser, it shows up as "corrupted data". But when I browse it with my BOOT.ELF cd (uLaunch program), it shows up as BOOT.ELF and SMS.ELF. Am I suppose to boot SMS directly from my MC and not from the CD? Because the memory card probably doesn't recognize this file.

nevermind guys, I found the problem myself.

I found out that I had to open ports 20 and 21 for my ps2 IP on my router.

Someone should add that on the manual if they are using a router for linking.

Anyways, I thank all those who made this fantastic program and detailed manual. I'm so happy it works now.

Trying to check if other things work:....and some questions

Um, ps2client does not work with my settings, but RadHostClient does.
Don't know why, but maybe my ps2client is not up to date? what's the newest version?

And for RadHostClient, is there a way to select my entire D:\ drive instead of a separate folders, for streaming?

I tried to fast forward when streaming a video file, it just stops the movie, I'm guessing that it's not possible?

Is there a point in copying the BOOT.ELF and SMS.ELF file to my MC? when my ps2 cannot directly run those files from my MC? Right now, I'm using my uLaunch CD, go into my MC folder and boot the SMS.ELF from there.

One last question, is DVD+R not supported on SMS? Because I have avi files burned on them, but SMS doesn't seem to read those dvd's. They work fine on my PC though. I'm positive that my ps2 can read DVD+R's though as I burn games with them.

This doesn't make sense. I assume you're talking about a NAT router. Opening holes in the NAT is to allow incoming connections from outside your local network. The PS2 and PC are on the same subnet behind the router, so normally nothing special needs to be done to allow intranet traffic. If it works for you, great, but this isn't a common configuration that should be in the manual.

get it from the bottom of the first post here:

This is not currently possible from the GUI, but you can search for and edit an existing string with regedit.

FFWD over the network works great for me and others. It may be a slow connection or a bad video?

The isn't really any point if you're running from a CD anyways. How are you booting the CD? If you have modchip, maybe it can boot an elf on the MC. Are you swapping?

Am I correct in guessing you don't have a modchip? You can play videos on DVD+R with SMS if you burn them as a video DVD (with a dummy VIDEO_TS folder and small files). If you have a means of authenticating disks (modchip) then SMS can play normal DVD+Rs.

i think he has a mod chip cause he mentions he boots ulaunch off the DVD... in that case, u can also put SMS onto that DVD too btw and boot it from there just so you know

if you have a mod chip, dont burn the discs with dvd-video, cause some modchip try to trick the ps2 into thinking the disc is a data disc, when if it is a dvd video disc, it will not read it correctly... if you have a modchip, just use nero and burn like you would for your PC.

thanks for the help, everything works perfectly now. And yes, I have a modchip.

For some reason, my video files on my dvd+r works on SMS now. Don't know why. Anyways, I looked on another thread where they talk about changing the booktype of my dvd burner, followed their steps and all discs should run on SMS now.

I have a question aside from all of this, a random one actually. Is it possible for my computer to have 2 network cards working simultaneously?
Because I want to connect my internet directly to my computer (that takes up 1 network card) and also connect my computer to my router (another network card) for streaming video files to my ps2.

I tried hook up both network cards, but they don't seem to work simultaneously; I want to be able to use my internet directly without going to my router "and" stream files through the router. Is that possible?

If u have a router why would u want to connect the modem directly to the PC?! =/

Anyway, theoreticaly it is possible to have 2 Ethernet Cards in the same computer, never tried it though...

It is a smart idea to use the router as there is virtually no performance hit (if that is what you're concerned about). In fact, you'll probably improve network performance on your PC because it won't have to deal with all the worm traffic. If you don't want to use the router because of difficulty in configuring it...well it's easier than setting up 2 NICs.

I have Wireless-G and built-in ethernet in this computer. The important thing is that you must set the ethernet card's link mode to 10BaseT/Half Duplex or your main internet connection will be lost.

dont bother getting another card for the PC. just plug the modem into one of the normal ports on the router instead of the WAN port... that should work.

in fact, my ISP allow multiple direct connections through the one modem so i plug the modem into router's normal port, and also connect another cable from another normal port looping back into its WAN port... that way, the router internet is always online via the router for when i just want to browse, and i can just click to connect up when i want to play a game or use something that would normally need DMZ.

if you only have one port in the router, then you'd need a hub so you could plug the modem and router and PC into it which would be better than 2 NICs in one PC... it can turn into a hassle.
