so someone was kind enough to mail me fmcb installed along with the other goodies such as sms and lately i've had a problem trying to play old avi's and so i was curious and tried to download the latest version but i had no way of installing it "properly" but i did upload it to usb stick and launched it from the root and then enabled usb support and tried to play the same movie that kept freezing and it suddenly worked!

on the MC its called SMS.elf and i was wondering if i could just delete that one and rename the latest one to the same and copy it from my usb stick to the MC and it would work? also didn't know if i had to use regular paste or mcpaste/psupaste

Don't worry, what you thought is right. Just delete the old SMS.elf in your MC and copy over the new one and rename to SMS.elf. You can do that to latest uLaunchELF als, rename it to BOOT.elf and copy over to your MC. Just use uLaunchELF's regular copy/paste commands as these are enough for normal files. MCPaste is used for game-saves which store extra data so it will copied fine to your HDD and vice versa. Use MCPaste only if you copy over (backup) your game-saves on your HDD or USB stick. Good luck.

ok i deleted it and then pasted over the new one but now in the fmcb the "Simple Media Player" option is gone how do i get it back?

EDIT: i didn't know that everything had to be in uppercase, thats why it wasn't showing up. i noticed this when i saw of the other .ELF files and only the SMS had .elf

    but thanks a lot!
