    I made .bin image file with CDGENPS2 and when i burned .bin (.bin file was ~700mb) on CD everything burned good and PS2 recognised it and played Movie and MP3 with SMS Player... but when i tried to burn .bin (~4,2GB) with Nero (and Alcohol 120%) it always throws my dvd disc out.. i tried another DVD disc but nothing changed... how can i burn .bin to DVD disc?

    I'm not sure if I understand you correctly, but it sounds to me as if you're trying to use CDGENPS2 to create DVD images, which simply doesn't work.

    ??????????????????????

    When you made image with CDGEN you must choose in File Tipe (When you Save de image) ISO, no BIN, Then you should burn with Nero Alcohol, etc...

    Hmmm. So you're saying that this CD generator also can produce correct DVD images provided only that one selects the ISO file type for the output. (Which is the same setting I've used for making PS2 CD ISO images.)

    I was not aware that ISO formats for CD and DVD are fully identical...?!?
    I guess I'll have to try this for the next PS2 DVD disc I make.

    Best regards: dlanor

    The only difference is that when you burn the ISO of CD you must choose the option of recording MODE2/XA

    Have you tried to rename whatever.bin to whatever.iso ?

    For those who dont know how:

    In My Computer (or any open folder) click Tools > Folder Options > View (tab) > uncheck "hide extensions for known file types" then click 'Apply'. Now all files displayed on your PC will show the extension after the file names.

    { a word of wisdom: after you have renamed your file, go and put a check back into that option to avoid changing some other files by mistake!}

    If all you want is to put AVI and MP3 files on a DVD for playing in SMS, make the DVD a video DVD disc, not a PS2 DVD. There's a page on how to do that. It is how I make the video DVDs I use with SMS. It works great, even on an unmodded PS2.

    Linky: ht tp : / / sms . ps2 - scene . org / eng / faqcdvd . htm

    Just remove the spaces... sorry about that, but haven't made 15 posts yet...

    No, that's not what he meant.

    If you read the SMS manual you will find that it describes how to make a DVD-Video disc containing what is needed to make the PS2 accept it as a readable disc, even without mod-chip, and using very little of the total DVD disc space. The rest of that space can be used for your AVI and MP3 files, stored in much the same way as on a normal DVD-ROM disc.

    Best regards: dlanor
